Jo Ritchie

After 17 years working in the corporate world not feeling like she was being true to herself, Jo redesigned her life to follow her dreams. Eva Rez

Eva is VC investor from the CEE region, who is ready to help startups with people management and fund raising with a specific focus on deep tech companies. She has recently immersed herself in the UK startup ecosystem with Episode 1 Ventures.

As of 2014, she was an Investment Director at Day One Capital, a Budapest based early-stage tech investor, until she left for pursuing an MBA in London in 2017. She sat on the Advisory Board of AImotive, a leading self-driving car startup with a full-stack software solution.

While being a Fulbright scholar in San Francisco, Eva also gained experience at Keirestu Forum, a global investment community of angel investors and VCs. Working at the Budapest Stock Exchange for 5 years, she was actively involved in the development of the Hungarian capital market.

Katie Rizvi

Katie is the founder, vice-president and acting CEO of the Little People children’s cancer charity in Romania & Republic of Moldova that provides daily psychosocial support services in 10 hospitals, with nearly 100% patient reach in both countries. The innovative intervention program received numerous national and international awards in the domains of psycho-oncology, social integration and society impact categories. Read more...

She has also set up the Temerarii group, the Romanian Community of Childhood Cancer Survivor Teenagers and Young Adults – one of the most active patient groups in the region, with annual meetups and policy meetings with hundreds of young people as decision makers in attendance each time.

Her special interest is youth empowerment and enabling survivorship communities, also making sure that Eastern Europe is going to be firmly on the map, as a part of the dialogue and an active contributor to European health policy, all the while endeavouring to reduce the adverse effects on health-outcomes of the economic divide between the more and less affluent regions.

Katie is a contributor to the FP 7 project PanCareSurFup WP6/7 Implementation/Feasibility sub-group as co-chair and has been responsible for language translation and patient accrual for WP 17.6 survey for ENCCA – European Network for Cancer Research in Children and Adolescents. She is a steering group member for WP 17.1 for ENTYAC – the European Network for Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer.

Since May 2015 she is one of the Directors of PanCare, a multidisciplinary pan-European network for the long term care of childhood cancer survivors.

In 2016 she became a member of the Children’s Medicines Working Party of The European Forum for Good Clinical Practice.

Shajjad Rizvi

Shajjad Rizvi, a British national. Shajjad has successfully led for-profit and non-profit organisations. He co-founded the Little People children’s charity, the most awarded NGO in Romania which provides daily services to children, teenagers and young adults being treated for cancer in all major treatment centres in Romania. Shajjad is also the executive chairman for the Duke of Edinburgh Award program in Romania. Shajjad is also a director of the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce and the founder of the British Business Group Transilvania.
